 ABOUT THE "SNOW ROAD LIFE"
CERTIFIED INSTRUCTOR: Ontario Recreational Canoe & Kayak Association (Provincial) Paddle Canada (National) (O.W.W.A. WhiteWater) CERTIFIED: Wilderness First Aid (international) Ontario SuperHost (Provincial) Police Checked (Provincial & National) |
WE'RE NOT NEW TO KAYAKING We started kayaking about 40 years ago. We've got a kayaking HISTORY. We've seen a lot, learned a lot. We've got a MARINE history that dates back to our Voyageur roots with Champlain. This isn't following a trend. It's more than certifications and papers. This is a life-long passion we want to SHARE. That's why we started this home-based business.
OUR ONLY PRODUCT IS SKILL We specialize in skills. We don't retail any hardware products. Come to Adventure Agent confident that you will not be pressured into buying anything. Any product suggestion is not because we want to make a sale. We're about how to paddle well and safely. We give confidence and competence to having fun on the water, out 'n about 'n a boat.
DO MORE THAN KAYAK: Take kayak LESSONS and a kayak TOUR, and extend the fun a few more days. Distinctive BED & BREAKFAST (B&B) is available to Adventure Agent guests. CAMPING is within 6 miles. Before or after your kayak adventure you can enjoy world-class, 5-star CUISINE, just minutes away. Add a kayak lesson and tour when you visit nearby golf courses. Several golf courses are in the area. Golf in this wilderness is a new experience. It's much quieter, and the air seems cleaner. Better golf, better health. The rest of the family or friends can kayak while you golf.

BIKE TRAILS, WATER TRAILS trails and road routes thread the hills; WATER TRAILS: Mississippi River, Clyde River, Tay River, Dalhousie Lake. Bike trails, like golf courses, seem just that much more special here. Choose a BIKE ROUTE or trail on a paved or gravel route, or get off into the roads / trails where bikes rule. A kayak adventure will fit in perfectly, adding refreshing water recreation to your road or trail bike trip.
WANT TO KAYAK BUT DON'T HAVE A CAR? Some folks want to kayak, but don't have a car. The Trans-Canada Highway, (#7) is just 15 minutes south of us. There is a bus stopping point there, which is about an hour from Ottawa and from Kingston. Take the bus that far, and for a service fee, we could pick you up at Sharbot Lake, to start your kayak adventure. (Pre-arrangement mandatory.) GREYHOUND SCHEDULE RAIL TO KINGSTON
OTTAWA, KINGSTON, BELLEVILLE, BROCKVILLE, GANANOQUE, TORONTO and all points between; it doesn't matter. Adventure Agent is the little home-based business that is accessible by excellent paved roads. Kingston, Belleville and Gananoque kayak or canoe enthusiasts merely drive up Road 38 to Highway 7, at Sharbot Lake, turn left, take the next right onto 509 to Snow Road. Kingston people refer to this area as "God's Country ". Well, God certainly DID bless this Land O' Lakes area, with the Missisisippi, Salmon and Clyde rivers, and some 5000 lakes.
Ottawa canoe and kayak enthusiasts recognize this as the accessible wilderness, because of its proximity, and excellent paved roads. For folks from Gananoque, Belleville, and Brockville, this glorious hub of the Lanark Highlands, Madawaska Highlands and Land O' Lakes is still "God's Country".
Whether it's the buildings and traffic of Ottawa, Brockville, Belleville or Gananoque, a kayak tour in this Land O' Lakes is a refreshing break, and will show you the meaning of "recreation".
Coming from Toronto? You'll definitely enjoy a stay at a B&B or campsite. Kayak and canoe tripping in the Land O' Lakes is far less crowded than Algonquin, and maybe more beautiful. Take the 401 or 7 east until you meet 509, then turn north 15 minutes and you're in " God's Country " - Snow Road Station - Adventure Agent country, the heart of North Frontenac's Crown Lands.
